MIA

Yea I've been MIA for a while.
Haven't felt much like blogging or reading any blogs lately.
And then I got stuck on jury duty ALL last week and yesterday....
Suck. Rotten apples. Suck.

Weekend. Shmeekend...

All in all, I can say that I had a pretty good weekend. I don't usually post about my weekends but I have some super cute pictures of Miss Priss I want to share.

Saturday:

 Didn't do too much besides lay around and watch tv. When I looked into Miss Priss's room I saw this:

Later in the afternoon we went to the mall with my mother. Miss Priss about dyed over getting this, even though she already has 2 full size ones.

Well, what are Grandmas for! Anyways....

When I get paid I am so going to go back to JCP to snag some super cute pink and black nikes while they are on sale!

Sunday we had a pretty eventful and fun day. We found fun things to do without dying in the heat!

First we went to Bartlett Lanes  to use our Kids Bowl free Coupons .

After bowling we went to the $2.50 movies and saw Rango.

Pretty weirdo movie. 20 minutes into I was ready to go. I understand it was a kids movie but geez was it loopy! Lots of weird talking creatures. I didn't even realize Johnny Depp was the voice of Rango until I just looked up the picture! We left the movie before it ended. Miss Priss told me "Don't worry Mom, I won't make you buy that one on DVD." Ha!

Then I went to a movie with a friend late last night. We went and saw X Men First Class

I'm not usually into this type of movie, even though I have seen all of the others. I actually enjoyed it! It was neat to see how it all started... Plus their were some hunky guys to look at! 

And... There's plenty of chicks, even underwear scenes, for the dudes to look at!But I'm not into all that so I'm not pinning any of them on here!

And now it's Monday, back to the daily grind!

Hoo Am I?

1. Do you decorate for the 4th of July?
    We put our huge flag out and a 4th table cloth. That's about it...

2. Do you you buy fireworks for the 4th of July?
    We do buy some, not the big stuff, but enough to blow up in the driveway.

3. How do you celebrate the 4th of July?
    We usually grill steaks and eat way too much food.

4. Do you have a family member that is serving our country?
     Not currently, but my parents are both retired military.

5. Do you dress in red, white, or blue on the fourth?
     Not always but I always make sure to dress Miss Priss all in red, white and blue.

  Thank you for making me smile. I was having a pretty blah day until I came to your register.

Nothing bad happened. Nothing particularly good either. Just a regular ol' Thursday. But you made me smile. With your funny humor and friendly personality you made me laugh. It was quite refreshing to have such a cheerful check out person. Usually check out people are OK, just there to do their job, but you went over and above being polite. From now on I will look to see if you are assigned to a register and wait in your line, even if it is 10 people long. Thanks for the pleasant check out experience! (were so cute too!)

My Brain is Clutter-fied!

Ever feel like you just have way too much going on or to do all at one time? Like you need to get it all done but can't focus on just one thing? That's me. Today. I'm usually a pretty organized person but today I just can't seem to get a hold of it. I feel like my mind is racing "a mile a minute". I have so much to do but other things keep grabbing my attention (like the idea for this post, that I just HAD to stop working on what I was doing to write!) I feel so hyper and jittery. Maybe that's the issue. I'm trying to do it all at once and get it done... Maybe after lunch, a nice break, I will be able to come in, sit down and refocus. Ha! As if. I have so many posts/blogs I need want to catch up on. I have so many things circling my brain that I want to write instead of this paperwork sitting in front of me. I have been failing at the weekly link ups that I usually try to make sure I do. There's also new ones I want to start...Maybe this afternoon...Or night....Midnight....I don't know!

So yeah, my brain is clutter-fied!!!!

Saw Green Lantern

So last night I took a late trip to the movies. Haven't been to the movies since I took Miss Priss to see Tangled. At 10pm on a Monday night, the movie choices are pretty limited. By default I saw Green Lantern. Didn't really know much about it other than it was based off of a comic book. 

I was willing to give it a chance though.

When it first started I was like "Oh, it's all Sci-Fi crap with people dressed as weird Aliens. This is gonna suck!". I had no idea that Ryan Reynolds was in it and the lead guy. YUM! Love him. It started off slow, but then got kinda funny. Really cheesy movie in my opinion. I didn't hate it, but it's not one I'd buy when it comes out on DVD. A lot of people think it's ok for children to see, but I'm not sure I'd take my year old daughter to see it. It only has a few semi nude scenes but has some foul language. Take those out and it would totally be a kid movie

Seriously guys?? WTF!

What is it with guys these days? Seems like every guy I meet or even start to talk to is obsessed with sex! I mean HELLOOOO I'm not going to jump in bed with you after 5 minutes or talking to you for a couple of days. I'm NOT like that. When they realize this, off they go... If they are interested in only getting sex, why bother talking to me? Just join one of those sex line things and leave me be. I have had the worst luck with dating for a while now. I want a friend, a companion, not a booty call! I want someone to hang out with, watch movies with, talk to, just relax with. Someone I can call up and say "Hey, wanna run to the store with me?" OR "Wanna go grab a bite to eat?".  Not someone that expects to get "down and dirty" every minute we are near each other! GAH! If that was all I wanted then I wouldn't even bother to get to know anything about him.

Seems like if I talk to a guy for a day or two, they expect things to get physical right then. Do I have "tramp" stamped on my forehead? NO! I mean one guy told me "Girls are like buying  a car. Gotta test drive before you buy." WTF! That was the end of that conversation!

Or if I don't drop everything to go out with a guy they are like "Your not into me are you?" HELLO I have a kid, a life! I can't just run when someone says go. Not even if I wanted to. I'm not a dog that will come when called. Plus I have to find a sitter, make plans, etc....

Is it just me or is the whole dating thing just awkward?!

Only during the warmer months I go tanning since I am very pale!

Sometimes.... I recycle lots of things by re-using them.

1. How often do you wash your vehicle?HA! Hardly ever! Only when it's so dirty I can't stand to look at it anymore!
2. When riding in a car with someone who usually drives, them or you?
I usually always drive. Not a control thing but because I usually know where I'm going.
3. How many states have you traveled to or through?TN,KY,OH,PA,NY,VT,NH,ME,RI,MA,CT,AR,MO,TX,LA,MS...I think that's it.
4. What kind of music do you listen to the most?Mostly Pop,Light Rock, little bit of R&B, little of alternative
5. Do you prefer the window down or air conditioning? Both! I know, I know, it's silly but I like to have the cool air hit me in the face but the warm air blow through my hair.

Maybe One Day

So I have typed and written several personal posts 

but just haven't been able to bring myself to post them.

 I'm not sure why. I mean who cares. 

It's not like I'm shouting it to the whole world.

 I don't know.

 All of the advice I have read or been giving about having a successful blog 

says that you should post about personal things. 

Maybe these are just too personal? 

Maybe stuff no one really needs to know?

Or wants to know?

 I don't want someone to read them and be like

 "Aw I'm so sorry that happened or you had to go through that". 

I don't want sympathy.

 I guess most importantly I just don't want to be judged.

 I have made many stupid mistakes and done some stupid things in my life.

 I try not to regret anything but to learn from it.

 To never do it again. 

One particular post is how I continuously repeated a viscous cycle for many, many years. 

I'm not even sure if I have broken it to this day...

Maybe one day.

Is it a boy or girl?

This is so weird! Saw this on Facebook this morning and was like "WHAT!" 
Isn't the most exciting part of having a baby finding out the gender and buying all the cutesy pink or blue things??Announcing to the family and friends what your having??

I mean I understand wanting to raise a child without the gender stereotypes but is it going to harm the child in the long run? Is this merely a way for the parents to get nation wide attention? Their "15 minutes in the spotlight"? And why did they start with their 3rd child? To top it all off these parents believe in unschooling.
When this child gets a little bit older, what will he or she wear, play with, identify with? Do they give the child some of everything or just gender neutral clothes/toys? Are these parents letting this child someday choose which sex he or she would like to live with? 
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to judge these people or their decisions. 
I mean it is their child whom they can raise as they wish, but why this way? 
This just blows my mind. 
How do they plan on keeping this a secret? 
Eventually it will come out. 
I believe this child will be totally confused and ridiculed as he/she gets older. 
I'm sorry, it's just strange...

Today

Today is a new day.

Sure yesterday wasn't all that great.

But the best thing about it?

Getting to wake up to a fresh start this morning.

All of the mistakes/problems from yesterday

Are lessons learned and options for me to

find different or better ways to do these things.

So I will hold my head up today.

I will not let the small things get to me.

I will be positive and refocus my negative energy into something positive.

Sure it's easy to sit here and think about oh how horrible that was, why me?

But I will not do that. Not today. A mistake is a lesson learned.

I mean I could have it so much worse. There has been so much devastation

touching so many lives lately. I am grateful and thankful that my family and I are OK.

Could one person really ask for more?
